Based in the Huddersfield area, I offer face to face & online counselling in the following areas:
I offer a free 30 minute consultation where we can have a discussion about what brings you to counselling, and how I may be able to help you.
My name is Nosheen and I'm an experienced integrative counsellor and a registered member of the BACP.
My journey to become a counsellor began when felt and witnessed the stigma around mental health, particularly in the Asian Muslim community. As a Muslim woman I understand how issues around anxiety, loss, abuse are often seen as taboo topics, and to have bad mental health means "you're not trying hard enough".
I often talk at community events and conferences to help break down such taboos, and to encourage people to seek help so that they can break down generational patterns, and find their own voice and peace.
Counselling provides you with a unique space, to speak to someone unconnected with daily life, with someone who is truly listening. As if they are stood alongside you, helping to make sense of your experiences and feelings.
In counselling you can expect a safe confidential space free from judgement, a space you can use to heal and grow and thrive.
What kind of issues have I worked with?

I have worked in high school and higher education settings counselling specifically for young people aged 13+. I have experience in working with self harm, low mood, anxiety and suicidal thoughts.
I understand how some young people may find it daunting speaking to a counsellor, however from the very first session I often hear young clients say "I didn't think I would find it as easy to talk as I have!"
